THE DAY OF THE LORD

Father, in the Name of Jesus, I confess the sins of myself and my countrymen, and my brothers and sisters around the world, and I know they are many. I confess our sins of pride and rebellion against you and your Word, of our bloodshed in war, abortion, and violence, of our idolatry by lusting after all things manmade and other gods who are not gods, of our fornications and lust in every type of sexual sin and perversion, of our thefts and slaveries, and of our destruction of your earth. I pray that you will bring knowledge of each specific sin to all the people of this entire earth and bring each of us to individual repentance.

Father, I pray that you will avert the catastrophe brewing in the Gulf of Mexico.  I pray you will stop the oil flowing into your waters and that you will keep storms and hurricanes from blowing that oil onto the land of these United States or any other nation.  I pray that you will cleanse the ocean waters, that you will heal all the animals in your seas, and that you will pour the pure water of your Word upon us.  O God, heal our land, heal your earth, and have mercy upon us, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.
