The Man-Child Company (Shepherd’s Rod (7))
(Rev.3:21) He that overcometh, I will give to him to sit down with me in my throne, as I also
overcame, and sat down with my Father in his throne.
The throne represents the rule of a king. Overcomers, and overcomers alone, share the right to rule with Christ on the throne of God. The Bible teaches that their first sphere of rule, their legal jurisdiction, will be upon the earth itself. Men call this rule or kingdom the Millennial rule of Christ or the Kingdom of God, but it is actually the millennial rule of men who have been transformed into the image of Christ in the first resurrection (and, yes, it includes overcoming women as well as men).
These overcomers are described in the following verse:
And she brought forth a male child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. (Revelation 12:5 KJ2000)
We see here that this male child is caught up to God’s throne, the place of ruling with God. We see also that he exercises his rule with a “rod of iron.” This throne is the same throne as seen in Revelation 3:21 above and his rod of iron is that rod we see in Revelation 2:27. Revelation 2:26 tells us that this one has “power over the nations.” The passages in Revelation 2 and 3 both speak of God’s overcomers. The “male child” thus represents the company or body of overcomers.
This male child goes by many names in Scripture. He is called the “manchild,” the “bride of Christ,” the “overcomers,” and the “two witnesses” among other names. Each term describes some aspect of this group of people which God specifically chooses to rule from among all those he called to believe in Him during history. The woman of Revelation 12:1 represents all of these “called out” ones. Before Christ she was known as Israel. After Christ she was called “the Church.” She has always been the congregation of God, the group of people who say they believe in God, in Jesus Christ.
But, in all times only a few of the “called out ones,” the ekklesia, have truly walked with God in the desert of faith. These are the ones who submitted to losing their lives while they yet lived. They are the women who chose to stay home and raise their children and thus “saved their soul.” They are the men who refused to watch the porno with the boss and so never got the promotion. They are the men blacklisted by all professional groups and leaders of those groups because they will not “play the game,” whatever that game happens to be at any particular time. They are the ones who refuse to go on welfare and work two jobs to support their wife and children. These are they who hang on the cross with Christ, repenting of each sin God reveals to them. This is how they practice righteousness. Of these the world is not worthy, so they alone will be accounted worthy to rule the world in righteousness. And their rule shall be with a rod of iron, the very word and law of God.
